April 23rd, 2014 In celebration of Arbor Day, the East Hartford Garden Club donated an Acer saccharum or Sugar Maple to the Town of East Hartford for McAuliffe Park.  The Sugar Maple was selected to fill a gap to maintain and preserve the original design of the stately tree-lined perimeter of the park. Shown in the photo published in The Gazette, East Hartford’s town newspaper, are East Hartford Garden Club members Frank Forrest, Sue Kies, Club President Debbie Dubitsky, and Karen Johnson.
